Fishing had taken a bit of a back seat to my horseback riding, but I have since sold my horses and am so focused on fishing and getting up to the beauty and serenity of the mountains. I decided to purchase a kayak last year which opened a whole new world for me. It was difficult for me to have to depend on other people to take me in their boats. I love fishing from a boat, shore and stream fishing. Although I don't mind kayak fishing on my own, fishing with a friend can be such fun.   Well i been fishing most of my life mostly spin casting and got really good at it .i was making my own custom lures.but i started fishing with my friend who was flyer and found myself watching him fish more than I was myself. So I bought a book started reading on fly fishing and the rest is history. I love to fly fish the rivers I've done a few Lakes but mostly rivers. My friend I used to fish with has different days off he works weekends and his hours are different. I've been fishing alone for a couple years now which is okay but would be nice to have someone to fish with.

  I am primarily interested in offshore fishing, however, since my boat has a shallow draft & trolling motor, I do occasionally take it out bass fishing. My regular fishing buddy has a new baby so he can't get out as often as me, and this being my first boat, I am not comfortable taking it out by myself. The bottom line is...I would prefer to take fishing buddies out on my boat to increase my captaining experience. In the six months I've had the boat, I've caught dolphin (many!), blackfin tuna, bonita, kingfish, several varieties of snappers, etc. Looking forward to my first sail & wahoo this winter.   Of course, I would like the fishing- buddy to be compatible with myself. Let me describe myself: I am a US Navy Veteran, stanch Republican, and all of my views are conservative and I stand for the national anthem. During the summer of 2017 my boat was in the Malvern Lake Marina at the dock, so no launching required. But now, I am interested in some winter fishing (but not when it is too cold) and presently my boat is on the trailer near Clinton, MO area and I am interested in having a fishing-buddy capable of help with launching the boat, the fishing-buddy needs to be able to back up a vehicle and boat trailer to assist in launching the boat. I am interested in fishing in Warsaw. MO at the bottom of the Truman dam, or Truman lake, or Stockton lake, and will take recommendations. I will consider taking extended trips to places like: Wilson, KS (lake is infested with Walley), Lake Erie, I have taken a 3- day trip to Lake Erie this past summer and landed lots of Walley (including a 28” Walley). Expenses should be reasonable split. Option - If a parent wants to take a son (or daughter), grandson, granddaughter with them for a fishing trip, I am Ok with that. But I request the son (or daughter) be old enough to be interested in fishing. No first timer kids please who are just starting to think about the fishing for the first time. My fishing experiences. I use to fish on Lake Erie 30 years ago. I have been fly fishing for the last 25 years. (trout are not really good for the frying pan). So let me try some boat fishing. I am a beginner with the boat fish game again. Boat; this is a 22’- 11” Crestline- with good gunnels so we won’t fall off. I got this boat also for the safety of my grandkids to be safe. I have four (4) seats. I have a main motor and a kicker motor for trolling. In addition, I have an electric motor on the bow that can be controlled by a controller or foot peddle. There are two fish finders with lots of electronics. If the fishing-buddy has good skills with fishing finders, all the better. A canopy is available if necessary to keep the sun or rain off. By preference is 3 persons max

  I love it when a fish strikes and I have it. Last big fish I caught was on a neglected fishing pole that flew into the water. After all the hubbub it was an catfish over 30# and about 36". Worst part is that I didn't get the photo, neglected pole user got the credit. Thats ok, I have had some amazing fish of my own, like my lil muskie, or the mudpuppy. Usally fish the seawall in Marine City (close to home) and get a lot of rock bass and gobies, sometimes perch.
